If we’ve spoken in the last few years, you likely know I’m writing a book.
Since I began this large fiction project in September 2014, it’s happily consumed all of my non-work writing bandwidth. Observant visitors will notice that that date exactly coincides with when I stopped regular posting on this blog. So the Analytic Eye is on indefinite hiatus.
I’m very excited about the project and can’t wait to tell you more.

What’s the book about? A lot of things, but I will say that it’s set in contemporary Toronto (no surprise given my love of the city) and builds off my long-time interest in women, work and superheroes.
One of the more interesting thing about this project is watching it unfold and realizing how much of my 2012 Tedx talk was me talking to myself about a project I didn’t know I would begin. Life’s so funny like that, huh? That talk’s had over 2,300 views now, which makes me pretty happy.
I used Wattpad to write the first draft, which took about 15 months. I’m also using the platform to edit as the novel grows from one book into three. That’s been a slightly longer process of about two years.
I never thought I’d be one of those people writing books on a phone, but the Wattpad platform’s been great. I’m not publishing as I go, but you can read some of my short stories and essays.
I’ll also post a link to the project’s new site when it’s ready.
